Sovjet tilsluttede sig UNESCOs Universal Copyright Convention (UCC) fra 1952 [http://www.campusprogram.com/reference/en/wikipedia/u/un/universal_copyright_convention.html] UCC finder du her: http://www.unesco.org/culture/laws/copyright/html_eng/page1.shtml I UCC artikel IV, 2.a hedder det blandt andet: "The term of protection for works protected under this Convention shall not be less than the life of the author and twenty-five years after his death." Videre i UCC artikel IVbis, 1.: "The rights referred to in Article I shall include the basic rights ensuring the author's economic interests, including the exclusive right to authorize reproduction by any means, public performance and broadcasting."
